A Scrapbook Retreat Weekend

Last weekend my friend, Kathy and I went here...

Angie's Inn on the Grand in Howell, Michigan.
It is a bed and breakfast set up especially for scrapbooking ladies.
It was WONDERFUL!  We had tons of time and space to scrapbook and ultimate pampering from Angie and her staff.

This is the room we stayed in.  It was called the Tulip Room.

Kathy and I spent the first night (Friday night) sorting, organizing, and categorizing the photos that we brought.  Ideally, I would have liked to have this done before we arrived at the inn so I could have spent the whole time scrapbooking but my three little munchkins and my dog do not give me time to do that sort of thing at home.  See HERE.  I did appreciate having several hours to work on getting organized.  I could spread everything out and label it.  I then filed all the photos in chronological order in a box so I was ready to scrapbook. This in itself was a huge project that I couldn't have gotten done at home.

As I mentioned before, the inn offers ultimate pampering for busy ladies who love to scrapbook and who need a relaxing get-away.

Each night when we went up to bed, our covers were pulled back and there was a treat waiting for us.
Angie, the owner, tells us her mother, Loretta who runs the inn with her, irons all the sheets!  Wow!

Each morning when we came out of our room, there was coffee, creamers, and sugar waiting for us in the hall, along with a bowl of chocolates.
The meals were amazing...
Chicken fajitias with all the fixins' and rice.

Cinnamon apple french toast.

Hot fudge sundae brownie dessert.
Baked Ziti with breadstick and salad.

These are just a few of the wonderful dishes Angie made for us while we were there.  She never let us get hungry!  We were provided with dinner Friday night, breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday, breakfast and lunch Sunday, and midnight snacks on both Friday and Saturday night.  The food was all homemade and amazing!  If you ever stay there, we HIGHLY recommend packing elastic waistband pants!

Just off from the scrapbook room was a smaller room with a mini-fridge that was stocked with a variety of pops and water.  We could just help ourselves whenever we needed something.  This room also had Cricut personal cutting machines and cartridges we could use whenever we needed them for our layouts.

And as if that weren't enough...

Angie has a special lady named, Storme come in on Saturday nights to do manicures and pedicures.  Storme was a hoot!  Such a fun lady to visit with and she did an awesome job on our nails!

Another lady, Cathy came in on Sunday to give us massages!  Yes, as I said - ultimate pampering!

The inn also has a hot tub and pool but we were too busy to try those out!  Maybe next time.

The downstairs of the inn had a small scrapbook supply store stocked with paper, stickers, and other embellishments.  Angie really has thought of everything!

This is us with the two other ladies we met while we were there - Christina and Marie.  The four of us were the only ones staying at the inn that weekend.  We enjoyed visiting together, sharing our pictures and finished layouts with each other, and indulging in our delicious meals together.

This is us with Angie (middle.)  She is such a talented, thoughtful lady and we can't wait to stay with her again.

Here is just a taste of all the stuff we packed!

It was about a 2 hour drive for us to stay at Angie's Inn on the Grand but so worth the trip.  We had checked out her website and then checked out several other places before we went back to her site.  We felt we got a whole lot for our money and we came home relaxed and refreshed with full tummies and beautiful scrapbooks!
Kathy and I have already booked another weekend for July!  I can't wait!

Check out Angie's webiste:
Whether you are an hour away or 12 hours away, it would be worth the trip!
