The kit she sent included these 6 blocks of wood and vinyl lettering spelling "Family."
I then had the creative freedom to use whatever color scheme I wanted with my own scrapbook paper.
The papers are a combination of greens, browns, and blues. The paper shown on the far left actually says "FAMILY" and has family themed words all over it. I don't know what company that paper is from...if anyone recognizes it and can tell me, I'd love to know.
I cut the a different patterend paper for each wood block.
Before I glued them on, I inked the edges of each paper with a brown stamp pad.
I then used Mod Podge with a paint brush to glue the paper to each block of wood.
After gluing the paper on, I also sealed the paper with a top coat of Mod Podge.
After allowing the blocks to dry, I laid each letter on top of the cooresponding block and gently rubbed the vinyl letter on with the side of a credit card. The letters went on easily and when I was finished, this is what I had...
I absolutely LOVE how they turned out! I also LOVE that Melissa sent the basics: the wood blocks (clearly labeled) and the word "FAMILY" in this adorable font. I also love how I was able to create it to match my own decor. There are lots of possibilities for a project like this!
