Christmas 2012

I haven't shared any pictures of our Christmas vacation yet so I thought I would today. With both Ryan and I being teachers, we had 2 1/2 weeks at home together with the the children. It was SO nice!

We made some treats and Hugh delivered them to the neighbors.

We watched tons of movies together during our vacation and all stayed up late and then slept in every morning.

It was great. We did get lots of much needed rest.

Claire & Grandma

Ryan's side of the family came to our house for Christmas. We had so much fun! After we ate and opened presents, the girls all painted little ceramic Christmas figurines.

Later we caught Grandpa painting too!

On Christmas Eve we all got dressed up and went to Boppa and Grandma's house for dinner.

The kids all loved Grandma's amazing gingerbread castle!

Me and my family
We took our traditional Christmas tree photos together.

We had a fancy dinner together. Grandma Beth always goes all out for it!

Then Grandma had a little birthday party for Baby Jesus with all of the kids.

Oliver loved looking at Baby Jesus.

 Claire and Nicholas sharing secrets!

We then all went to the Christmas Eve service at church.

On Christmas morning we woke up to this...

Santa was very good to us!

Yes, that is a goose you see! Goose decoys under the tree! Only at our house!

Our precious babes were so excited!

Claire got the Lalaloopsy doll she asked Santa for.

Hugh was surprised with an electric scooter.

New bike, new helmet, new fuzzy socks - the best Christmas ever!

Oliver got a new John Deere ATV. He always has lots of work to do so this was just what he needed!

He also got the backhoe he asked Santa to bring him!

We spent Christmas day just relaxing!

And lovin' each other!

On the 26th we went back to Grandma & Boppa's house for our Christmas together.

Boppa and his two girls...with one more little girl on the way this spring...

Before we opened presents, we had a little show...

We are a family of performers.  What can I say? They come by it naturally!

We then opened presents! Baby Addie was excited to get her own pink pony!

And Oliver was so delighted with his new police truck!

 Grandma Beth & Claire

My nephew Nicholas opening a gift.

The kids were so excited to give each other gifts too!

Hugh and Nicholas got blankets knitted by grandma with yarn they had given her last summer!

Of course, the boxes were just as fun as the gifts!

Claire & Addie got matching John Deere pink bib overalls! So cute!

Oliver got his very own sleeping bag! He thought it was hilarious when
I showed him how to get in it!

And the highlight of Christmas with Grandma & Boppa - the train!
Each year, after all the gifts are opened, the train comes choo-chooing around to the front of the tree filled with goodies for all the kids! This year they got candy, little tools, and pens and paper along with other little surprises! The train is always such a hit!

We were so excited to spend time with my sister, Julie and brother-in-law, Andrew and their little Addie. We don't get to see them very often and my kids just can't ever get enough of sweet little Addie...

We had such a nice Christmas together and enjoyed our long vacation - all of us home together.
It was wonderful, and I'm sad it is over! Now I'm looking forward to an amazing new year with my little family.
